Joe Vitti Mountain Guide Northeast Ice Climbing Guide

We parked at Buttermilk/Asbestos lot and visited Wildcat Ravine yesterday. There is little to no ice at Palenville Corner, Moore's Bridge and Asbestos. There's about six inches or so of snow on the ground. We walked to upper tier of Wildcat and though the waterfalls in the ravine were not climbable there were a couple of things that were climbable at top tier. It was not super cold yet and plenty of water was moving around. Next two days of super cold should be good. Mike R and friends have been up to Hilyer and reported more substantial ice than what we found in Wildcat.
