Description: Buy it at the Mountaineer.

The new 360° screw can benefit all ice climbers. In situations where safety depends on speedy screw placement (crevasse rescue or steep ice) the 360’s sharp bite and easy starting are quite reassuring. When obstructions of rock or ice prevent a normal fixed hanger’s rotation, the 360’s handle may be lifted away from the surface and turned freely. The 360’s super-slick finish makes it very difficult for ice to clog its core. The 360’s efficiency makes it possible to place an ice screw where and when you want to, not just where and when you are able to.

Grivel Thread: The inverted thread increases extraction resistance. The hydrodynamic design ensures easy penetration even into the coldest and hardest ice.

Pros: Fast placing, tight spots are no problems, can clip it from either side
Cons: Pain in the ass to rack, the metal folding handle catches on everything and sometime it will fall off its groove, PRICY

The best screw I ever had.

Pros: Super easy to place. The hanger takes 2+ biners.
Cons: price

These are my favorite screw. It's unbelievable how much easier it is to place these than a traditional screw. Providing the surface ice is good, there is very little, if any ice prep. needed to place these.

I didn't notice any big problems with racking. The handle has been improved so it stays closed when not in use, avoiding tangles with other gear.

They also flipped the crank knob around to a more logical position. Before it was tapered toward your hand, it seems like this would have made it more difficult to hold onto while cranking.

They also shortened the 17's to 16cm and the 22's to 20cm.

Pros: sharp, fast, no need to clear a big disk
Cons: racking hassle

There's a lot of info on the net on these if you search around. They are quite simply the best performing screw you can buy. Tying a small loop of 3-4 mm cord on the hanger for racking will solve 90% of those troubles. The ability to place them in depressions is a HUGE benefit.

I think the only folks who still think BDs are the best are those who've never tried the 360s.
