Description: Buy it at the Mountaineer.

With a patented taper at the tip and a retractable knob, the Turbo Express Ice Screw is the fastest-placing screw in our line. Its needle-like teeth grab and bite in any ice condition. The Turbo Express’ folding knob allows you to sink it with blazing speed, and because it’s retractable, it keeps ropes and biners from snagging. With a patented taper at its tip opening, the Turbo Express penetrates, cuts and crushes ice smoothly. Color-coded for quick identification, Turbo Express screws come in a variety of lengths and their compact design allows for easy racking and access.

Pros: Starts well and cleans just as easy, Coffe grinder knob is great and ease of racking is also a plus
Cons: Nickle plating is not durable enough

Pros: fast placements, easy racking
Cons: cost

Now the only screws I use! They do as advertised, and rack well.

Pros: Easier to place than most screws. Available in many lengths. They come with caps to cover the sharp teeth while in your pack.
Cons: "Grinder" knob is too small. Hanger take only one biner. Many times you need to clear ice for the hanger.

These are pretty good screws. These are the bulk of my screw rack, but not my favorite.

They start and screw in quite well. Though with big gloves on it may be more of a challenge to wind them in quickly with the undersized crank knob.

These still often require chopping a flat spot so that the hanger won't hit while winding the screw in.

The grinder knob folds out and back in easily, but stays put when not in use.

Though it really doesn't matter most of the time, it would be nice if there was room to clip two biners to a screw.
