Pros: Fit and breathability
Cons: Pockets

I have had the jacket for 2 months now and it performs as expected, for the $$. I had the TNF mountain light for 10+ yrs, so the upgrade is significant. The biggest change for me is the breathability. My mountain light was 2 ply gortex, the alpha is XCR, so that is to be expected. The biggest advantage is the fit. This jacket fits me really well. With all the adj. cords it fits with just a t-shirt, with a fleece jacket under and with a down jacket under it. This versitility is key. Now that I am climbing ice, the fact that the hood accomodates a helmet is a plus. The only thing I don't like is the pockets. The small pocket on the sleeve needs a bare hand to open and close, and the front pockets are across the zipper. Basically you can't stand there with the hands in your pockets, its just not comfortable. The pockets are large and accessible with a pack, but are different from any other jacket I have owned. It sheds water like a duck, but thats to be expected from a new expedition shell.

Pros: design, water resistance and breathability,
Cons: none yet discovered

Arcteryx has put so much design into this jacket that the only thing left to complain about is the six hundred dollar price tag. The hood is fully articulate, the material is as heavy duty and light as any ice climber/mountaineer could ever need. with the gore pro shell it provides a perfect barrier to the harsh mountain climate. also, they put these little pieces of foam in the bottom of the jacket that prevent the jacket from sliding out of your harness, no more drafty jackets
