Thin ice in Montreal River for top roping and some lead climbing in several areas. Hilltop Icewall was thin.
Mile 38 Road- Climbs are in thin, gullies are leadable.
Pillars are forming.
Cerro De Hielo- Road not plowed to K-9.
We will post a more comlete update on several areas this coming weekend of the 9th
Agawa Canyon- Ice is Leadable but the river is not frozen. Bridalveil Falls is wide open, and there is no access to cross the river, although it is beginning to freeze. Trestle, Victory Daze-Salmon Run are leadable, and do not require crossing the river. A good 14 inches of snow in the canyon on Monday.
Best to hold off on visiting the areas above for a least another week, pending temperature.

Loggers in Batchawana have concerns that climbers with MICHIGAN plates are not parking far enough off the road near K-13.5. They advice to park at K-13 at the pulloff on the right after the bridge.

Ice is climable on Mile 38 Road, but wet and running with water in certain locations. Beware of falling ice on south facing slopes. Rivers are not safe to cross Chippewa River, Carp River,Agawa River, Montreal River.
Would recommend not visiting any of the areas until it gets cold again, as the ice is melting.

Rain and lots of wet rock as well as falling ice, and rushing creeks and rivers at flood stage. Best to stay away and hope for cold weather. We will post again when conditions look more positive.

Rivers are rushing, and all ice jams have been flushed away into Lake Superior. Any climbable ice that was in place has fallen or become detached. Too bad as many of the classic climbs were in good shape last week. Best wait till after Christmas as some cold air is on the way, we hope.
